Analyst Assisted Research Services

Analyst Assisted Research Services is a premium service where we charge both flat and hourly fees for custom research and reports. These services are for those subscribers that do not have a research staff of their own, are pressed for time, do not have the bandwidth or staff to do their own research, or are having difficulty locating information using their own resources.

  • KeyValueData invests over $100,000 a year in licensing and the development of premium databases and services for our subscribers which otherwise might be not be available. This gives us a substantial advantage over other services in that they are simple retailers or resellers of other company's databases. This investment also allows our research analysts access to hard-to-find information for our subscriber’s benefit.

  • KeyValueData is one of the few, if not only, company that offers both online databases and analyst assisted research support. Our analysts are experienced and well trained with over 45 years combined experience doing business research.

Analyst Assisted Research is available in these areas:

  • Research
  • Industry research is a vital part of any consulting engagement whether it is for a valuation report, industry intelligence, or an offering memorandum. Years of experience have taught us that spending countless hours hunting for data can have an opportunity cost of resources, time, energy and money. KeyValueData provides high-quality, customized and affordable research to fit your professional needs. KeyValueData offers a range of essential products to fit your needs, from written reports to finding industry specific resources. Our industry research services are broken down into two key segments:

    • Written Studies
    • Written studies are provided in Word and Excel format, and can be edited for your specific needs, then simply cut/paste and place directly into your report. Reports average five pages (short form), and include a valuable and helpful bibliography for future use. Turnaround is typically 10-15 business days.

    • Industry Research Packages
    • These unique packages include the “raw data” we use to write a report. The data is excellent for those that prefer to perform a comprehensive analysis of the industry and write their own report sections. Turnaround for industry packages is typically 3-5 business days.

  • Economic & Metropolitan Area Studies
  • Metropolitan area (Metro) studies are fee-for-service, custom prepared snapshots of a state, county economy or metropolitan statistical area (MSA). If you would like one of our analysts to create a metro study for your use in a report, offering memorandum or other use, please contact KeyValueData. Note: KeyValueData also provides archived studies prepared at a particular date in time and, generally, for a specific location. These archived reports are useful templates to help you with preparing the industry section of your report. These reports contain comprehensive bibliographies, reducing your time finding data sources. These reports are available at no additional charge with your paid subscription.

  • Financial Statement Analytical & Benchmarking Data
  • KeyValueData provides you with a new powerful benchmarking tool that allows you to compare your subject company with other companies in your SIC. Our database contains over one million private and public companies. We will create a comparison chart that will let you see your company’s financial data compared to others in the industry. Data is sent in Excel format.

  • Executive Compensation
  • It is common practice in performing a valuation of a closely-held private company to adjust “Officers’ Compensation.” Our analysts can do the research and create a summary report to assist you with adjusting executive compensation of your client company to be a “living wage.”

Another use of our Executive Compensation service is to benchmark compensation, and bonus incentives, for key employees in a company. For example, human resources may need data to support the compensation of a new hire. Our licensed sources of information are excellent for this purpose.

The Executive Compensation service can be focused as closely as the zip code of the target company. Not every region of the country is equal in compensation and the variance can be quite significant. Other potential uses of the service might be to assist in defending the excess officers’ compensation issue with tax authorities, set compensation goals, and perform forecast and projection modeling for start-ups.

Information for an Executive Compensation report is compiled from reliable referenced sources and can be delivered in either Word or Excel format. Turnaround is typically 5-7 business days.

  • Custom Research
  • KeyValueData can complete very specific, and often difficult, targeted custom research. Requests may include finding a rare archived article in databases which require subscriptions, finding a court case, researching a specific industry at a specific date in time, locating an out-of-print book, analyzing a complex set of M&A transactions, finding a white paper, or a case study...to name a few examples.

KeyValueData’s custom research is a premium service and is billed on an hourly basis. Occasionally an incidental charge for provider downloads may be incurred (such as when the information provider charges us a fee, or there is a copyright royalty to pay, in which case we pass the direct charge on to you. Incidental fees are normally quite small).
